One of the "low points" in our journey ;) Actually we enjoyed Death Valley National Park very much, and our early
April visit coincided with a great bloom of wildflowers, not shown in this particular picture.

ranching in California started with the arrival of two small navel orange trees, way back in 1873.

A shot taken from the eastern shore of the Salton Sea, California's largest lake. The Salton Sea is even saltier
than the Pacific Ocean. The submerged tree visible in the picture gives an indication of the lake's fluctuating
levels.

A home at mile-high Lake Arrowhead, which is just visible in the background. Located just a couple of hours from
Los Angeles, Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake are both popular recreational destinations for urban Southern California.
